Dear Reader,
Jai Jinendra!
Jainism is not confined to some parts of India but is spread in the nooks and corners of it. From the Sammed Shikhar in the east to Palitana in the west, from the Ashtapad in the north to Shravanabelagola in the south, and across the Bundelkhand region in central India, Jain devotion has shaped a landscape of remarkable pilgrim sites, graced with ancient temples and tranquil hills that continue to resonate with the timeless Jain philosophy.
During our summer schools, we take our participants to visit one of the Jain pilgrim sites to witness firsthand the vibrant energy of Jainism as a living tradition of India and see that Jain history is not merely preserved in stone but showcases the continuous presence of Jain spirit.
The last day to apply for all the three formats of the 21st International residential Summer Schools is May 31, 2026. This unique program invites scholars, students, and K-12 educators to engage deeply with Jainism through exposure to Jain philosophy while discovering how its timeless principles of nonviolence and compassion can enrich both classrooms and daily life. Secure the rare chance to experience Jain wisdom and understand the Jain thought.
ISJS invites applications for the 7th Bhagwan Mahavira Prakrit Fellowship at ISJS, Pune. This nine‑month residential program offers a unique chance to master Prakrit and explore Jain intellectual traditions. Send your applications by June 10, 2026.
