In India, the weather is now transitioning from the cold winter toward spring, a season marked by the harvesting of crops such as wheat and mustard, while preparations begin for sowing other crops, including rice and other various millets. Similarly, ISJS is in the process of concluding its ongoing academic programs while planning new initiatives and projects. Some of the activities completed and those planned are outlined below:
  • ISJS HOSTS A GERMAN INDOLOGIST FOR TWO MONTHS
    Ms. Corinna Lohir, a researcher specialising in Indian yoga traditions from Hamburg, Germany is visiting ISJS for two-month academic engagement.


  • PROF. ALESSANDRA FROM ITALY INTERACTED WITH ISJS IN PUNE
    Dr. Alessandra Consolaro, Professor of Hindi language and literature at the University of Turin, Italy interacted with ISJS members during her visit to Pune, India.


  • AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HOLISTIC WELLBEING: A JAIN PERSPECTIVE ORGANISED
    An International Conference on Holistic Wellbeing: A Jain Perspective was organised by Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed-to-be University, Vadodara in association with ISJS and Vardhman Charitable Foundation, USA.


  • REGISTRATION OPEN FOR ISJS SUMMER SCHOOLS 2026

    ISJS is now accepting applications for its three international residential programs, offering experiential study of Jainism and its applications in promoting peace and harmony.


  • NEW OFFERING: ONE-MONTH ONLINE COURSE ON APABHRAMSA
    For a wider audience interested in the classical languages of India, ISJS is offering a one-month online course on Apabhramsa Language and Grammar in Hindi.


  • AN ONLINE FREE-ACCESS DICTIONARY BY ISJS LAUNCHED
    ISJS has launched an online English translation of Paia-sadda-mahannavo, a Prakrit-Hindi dictionary originally complied by Pt. Hargovind Das T. Sheth, making this important resource freely accessible to scholars and students worldwide.

    This edition of the Speak Up section features an article titled Inner Peace and Social Harmony: A Jain Perspective on Maslow’s Theory of Human Needs by Dr. Navin Kumar Srivastav, Associate Director, ISJS.
