Teaching for Peace

On April 22, the Jain community and the world at large bid farewell to Acharya Chandana Ji Maharaj Saheb, a revered spiritual leader and visionary. Born on January 26, 1937, she dedicated her life to service, compassion, and the propagation of Jain values.

Acharya Chandana Ji was the founder of Veerayatan, an institution that became a beacon of education, healthcare, and humanitarian work inspired by Jain principles. Through her tireless efforts, she touched countless lives, inspiring generations to embrace values of non-violence, selfless service, and spiritual growth. Her exemplary leadership and pioneering initiatives brought Jainism into dialogue with the modern world, ensuring its relevance and accessibility across cultures and continents.

Her last rites were performed at Abhay Prabhavana in Pune on April 24, a center that itself stands as a living testament to her vision, inspiration, and tireless motivation. She remained deeply aware of the activities of ISJS and consistently offered her blessings to our mission of propagating Jain studies across the globe.

Her passing leaves a profound void, but her legacy endures in the lives she transformed and the institutions she built. The community remembers her not only as an ascetic and a guide but also as a compassionate soul whose vision will continue to illuminate the path for years to come.
