DISTINGUISHED BUDDHIST SCHOLARS VISIT ISJS IN PUNE
Two distinguished Buddhist scholars, Dr. Peter Skilling (Thailand) and Dr. Dragomir Dimitrov (Germany), visited the Abhay Prabhavana Museum and Knowledge Centre in Pune and engaged with the International School for Jain Studies (ISJS).
Dr. Peter Skilling, a renowned authority on Buddhist studies, is former Professor at the French Institute of Bangkok and Professor Emeritus at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. During his visit on March 13, 2026, he was accompanied by Prof. Mahesh Devakar (Savitribai Phule Pune University), Dr. Shrikant Ganvira, and Mr. Oshin Bamb (Deccan College, Pune).
On March 14, 2026, ISJS welcomed Dr. Dragomir Dimitrov, Associate Professor at Philipps University, Marburg, Germany, and an authority on Buddhist philosophy and Sanskrit grammar.
Both visits were guided by Dr. Shrinetra Pandey, Director of ISJS, who introduced the scholars to the institution’s activities and initiatives. The visitors expressed appreciation for ISJS’s contributions to the global academic community and its efforts to advance Jain studies.
