TRANSFORMING EDUCATION WITH AHIMSA: THREE WEEKS TEACHING FOR PEACE IN INDIA

ISJS invites applications for Teaching For Peace (TFP.2026), a three-week residential program in India from July 2 – 22, 2026.

About the Program
Designed exclusively for K–12 educators, this three week immersive journey brings the principles of ahimsa (nonviolence) into the heart of teaching, community life, and daily practice. India itself becomes a living classroom—offering firsthand encounters with the philosophy, traditions, and cultural expressions of ahimsa. Participants will explore how nonviolence can shape pedagogy, nurture compassionate communities, and inspire peace-centered education.

Program Highlights
  • Training in ahimsa, meditation, and spiritual reflection
  • Exploration of ahimsa in food, health, conflict resolution, race relations, labor, sports, and more
  • Conversations with teachers, administrators, and students
  • Interactions with educators, professionals, and public servants embodying ahimsa
  • School visits where children practice nonviolence daily
  • Visits to Gandhi related places and museums
  • Earn 3 academic credit units upon successful completion

Application deadline: April 10, 2026.

ISJS warmly welcomes educators worldwide to discover the transformative strength of ahimsa in education and life.
