BHAGWAN SHITALNATH JAIN CHAIR AT DECCAN COLLEGE MARKS TWO YEARS, RELEASES SECOND ANNUAL REPORT
In November 2023, ISJS, Pune, in collaboration with the Vardhman Charitable Foundation, USA, established the Bhagwan Shitalnath Chair for Jain Archaeology at Deccan College Postgraduate and Research Centre (deemed to be university), Pune.
This Chair, the first of its kind in the world dedicated exclusively to Jain Archaeology, represents a landmark initiative in advancing the academic study of Jain heritage. Over the past two years, it has fostered specialized research, supported scholarly publications, and encouraged dialogue on the archaeological dimensions of Jainism.
Marking this milestone, the Chair has released its second annual report, covering December 2024 to November 2025. The report highlights key achievements, including documentation of Jain sites and artifacts, academic collaborations, and the integration of Jain archaeology into broader historical and cultural studies.
