RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM IN INDIA
ISJS invites applications for its upcoming three-week residential program, Teaching For Peace (TFP.2026),
scheduled from July 2 to July 22, 2026 in India.
Exclusively crafted for educators, this transformative program weaves the timeless values of ahimsa
(nonviolence) into everyday life, teaching, and community engagement. Guided by the belief that lasting
global change begins with the individual, the initiative turns India into a living classroom-offering direct
encounters with the philosophy and lived traditions of ahimsa.
Program Highlights:
Visits to Schools and hostels, where students embody nonviolence in daily routine
Engaging conversations with teachers, administrators, and students on how ahimsa shapes
education and community life
Exploration of ahimsa in everyday contexts-including food, medicine, health, conflict
resolution, race relations, labor, clothing, sports, and entertainment
Meaningful interactions with educators, professionals, and public servants who integrate
ahimsa into their lived practice
Visits to sites of historical importance such as Gandhi's cremation grounds and museums
Practical training sessions in ahimsa, meditation, and spiritual reflection
