LECTURE ON KHAJURAHO JAIN TEMPLES BY PROF MNP TIWARI AT
BHAGWAN SHITALNATH JAIN CHAIR, DECCAN COLLEGE
The lecture titled Landmarks and Sharing in Jaina Art, with Reference to Khajuraho Jain Temples was
organized under the Prof. S. B. Deo Annual Memorial Lecture on Jain Studies series. This was the second lecture in
the series.
The lecture, held on September 30, 2025, was delivered by Prof. Maruti Nandan Prasad Tiwari, Chairman of the
Indian Art History Congress and Former Professor Emeritus at Banaras Hindu University. The session was graced by
Dr. Abhay Firodia, Chairman of Amar Prerana Trust and ISJS, who addressed the gathering as Chief Guest. Prof.
Prasad Joshi, Vice Chancellor (A) of Deccan College, presided over the session, while Dr. Shrinetra Pandey,
Director of ISJS, addressed the gathering as Guest of Honour.
The lecture was organized by the Bhagwan Shitalnath Chair for Jain Archaeology under the Department of AIHC
and Archaeology at Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute (Deemed to be University), Pune.
