ENTHUSIASM
The sixth batch of Bhagwan Mahavira Prakrit Fellowship (BMPF) has started in full rigour.
The induction session was held on September 3, 2025, during which the participants shared their backgrounds and
interests in studying Prakrit. The program started with the recitation of Namokar Mantra by Mr. Harshit Mishra.
ISJS Director Dr. Shrinetra Pandey presented the introduction to the program by making the participants familiar
with the ISJS activities and introducing them to the ISJS team. He also explained the program guidelines for the
smooth conduct of the program. Course coordinator Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh shared the teaching methodology for the
upcoming nine months, highlighting Prakrit's simplicity and ease of learning.
The learning in the class has already started. The participants are getting familiar with Hemachandra's
Siddha-hema-shabdanushasan. They are getting accustomed to the standing of Prakrit in the language families, word
declensions, verb conjugations, and correct pronunciations through introductory lectures, class exercises, and
sutra recitation.
BMPF is an immersive, residential program for 9 months designed to promote in-depth study of Prakrit and Jain
literature. The participants receive a PG Diploma from Deccan College (Deemed to be University) at the end of the program, enhancing their
