APPLICATIONS OPEN – TEACHING FOR PEACE (ISSJS.2026-TFP):
IMMERSIVE PROGRAM IN AHIMSA FOR EDUCATORS
ISJS invites applications for its transformative three-week residential program, Teaching For Peace (ISSJS.2026-TFP), to be
held from July 2 to July, 22, 2026. This three-week residential program is designed exclusively for educators
committed to integrating the principles of ahimsa (nonviolence) into their personal lives, classrooms, and
communities.
Rooted in the belief that meaningful global change begins with individual transformation, this immersive
initiative turns India into a living classroom, where participants engage deeply with the philosophy and
lived practice of ahimsa.
Program Highlights:
Visit schools and hostels where children live and practice nonviolence
Dialogue with teachers, administrators, and students on the impact of ahimsa in education
Explore ahimsa across diverse fields: food, medicine, health, conflict resolution, race relations,
labor, clothing, sports, entertainment, and more
Interact with practitioners of ahimsa—including educators, professionals, and public servants
Visit sites of historical significance, including Gandhi’s cremation grounds and museums
Participate in training sessions on ahimsa, meditation, and spiritual reflection
This program is offered specifically for educators, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping future
generations. ISJS warmly welcomes teachers from all backgrounds to join this unique academic journey and
explore the transformative power of nonviolence.
