On Chaitra Krishna Navami, long ago, Rishabhadeva, the first Tirthamkara
of Jainism, was born. He laid the foundation for civilization while also
illuminating the path of renunciation and spiritual liberation.
Rishabhadeva is generally popular for his teachings of the cultivation of
a self-sufficient community but at the same time he exhibited the path
of nonviolence, self-restrain, penance, and enlightenment.
Jains worldwide follow Jain values reflected through his conduct.
The International School for Jain Studies ‘ISJS’ preserves and conserves
the teachings of Rishabhadeva through its various programs. As these
aspirations take root, ISJS is gearing up for its transformative journey
into Apabhramsa with more than 40 participants. Meanwhile, applications
for the renowned International Summer School for Jain Studies are
drawing to a close.
