11 participants from countries including the US, UK, Bangladesh, and India have arrived in Pune for the 5-week
20th International Summer School for Jain Studies.
The participants have been taken to Navalveerayatan, the program’s central location, where Dr. Shrinetra Pandey,
Director of ISJS, introduced ISJS and its team to them. He also outlined the key guidelines to be followed during
their 35-day stay. Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Ms. Pragya Jain, Mr. Harshit Mishra, and Mr. Gopal Kudale were present
at the induction.
Started on June 17, 2025, the ISSJS.2025-5W promises a rich experiential learning journey with immersive lectures and
engaging discussions that unravel the depths of Jain philosophy. Participants will also explore sacred Jain
pilgrimage sites, temples, and institutions, offering a firsthand understanding of this ancient tradition. This
program provides an exceptional platform for scholars and students worldwide to engage deeply with Jain ascetics
and householders, fostering meaningful cultural and intellectual exchanges.
