The Bhagwan Mahavira Prakrit Fellowship (BMPF)—a flagship academic initiative by ISJS—is preparing to welcome its
sixth cohort, with interviews already underway. So far, four candidates have been selected, each bringing fresh
energy to the study of Prakrit. Additional interviews are scheduled soon to complete the batch.
BMPF is an immersive, residential program for 9 months designed to promote in-depth study and appreciation of
Prakrit and Jain literature. Participants not only engage with rigorous language training and textual exploration,
but also receive a diploma from Deccan College, enhancing their academic credentials.
The upcoming batch will commence on September 1, 2025, marking a new chapter in ISJS’s continuing effort to
cultivate scholars in classical languages and Jain thought. The fellowship is ideal for those passionate about
ancient Indian knowledge systems, linguistic heritage, and the transformative power of immersive learning.
