ONLINE LECTURE ON THE RELEVANCE OF APARIGRAHA BY
DR. SUSHMA SINGHVI
The 18 th lecture in the online lecture series by ISJS is to be delivered
by Dr. Sushma Singhvi on the Relevance of Aparigraha in the
Present Day on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Dr. Singhvi is an
Emeritus Professor of Prakrit and Sanskrit at Jain Vishva Bharati
Institute, Ladnun. She has served as Director-Research at Prakrit
Bharati Academy and as a Chairperson of the Rajasthan Sanskrit
Academy, Jaipur.
The lecture explores the misconceptions about aparigraha in light of its
true essence as presented in both Vedic and non-Vedic philosophies
and from the perspective of psychology, sociology, and economics,
aiming to guide us towards a happier and more harmonious life in the
present day.
The session will be chaired by Dr. Sachchidanand Mishra who is a
distinguished academician in Indian Logic and Epistemology and is
currently the Member Secretary of the Indian Council of Philosophical
Research (ICPR). Recipient of the Maharshi Badarayan President
Award 2009, Dr. Mishra is a professor of Philosophy and Religion at
Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
