LECTURE ON CONTRIBUTIONS OF JAINISM TO AYURVEDA BY REKHA JAIN ON FEBRUARY 24 CONCLUDED
The 19th lecture in the online lecture series by ISJS was delivered
by Dr. Rekha Jain on the Contributions of Jainism to Ayurveda on
Monday, February 24, 2025.
The lecture highlighted Ayurveda's principles and their connection with Jain philosophy, mentioning that several Jain acharyas have written on nonviolent medicine. Additionally, it discussed Jain supporters who have funded Ayurvedic institutions, aiding in Ayurveda's development and sustainability.
Around 50 participants from various distinguished institutions attended the event, followed by engaging discussions on the applications of Ayurveda in relation to Jain philosophy.
Dr. Shugan C. Jain, Founder and President of ISJS, presided over the session. He has promoted academic studies on Jainism and Prakrit globally through ISJS. He appreciated the lecture and highlighted the importance of a practical approach to a healthy lifestyle.
