LECTURE ON JAIN ART AND ICONOGRAPHY BY PROF. MNP TIWARI
ISJS is pleased to announce the 26th lecture in its Online Lecture Series, to be delivered by
Prof. Maruti Nandan Prasad Tiwari, Chairman of the Art History Congress, former Tagore National
Fellow, and Professor Emeritus at the Department of History of Art, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Prof. Tiwari, a distinguished scholar of Indian art and iconography, particularly Jain art, aesthetics, and
iconography, has earned national and international recognition through his extensive publications and
lectures. He is the recipient of the Acharya Narendra Deva Puraskar, Indira Gandhi National Rajbhasha Award,
and the Nehru Trust Fellowship (UK). His contributions have enriched academic discourse at leading
institutions in India and abroad.
