On December 17, 2025, ISJS had the privilege of welcoming Prof. Christopher Key Chapple, Doshi
Distinguished Professor of Indic and Comparative Theology and Founding Director of the Master of Arts in
Yoga Studies at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles (USA). Prof. Chapple, who also serves as President
of the South Asian Studies Association, is a valued faculty member and advisor to ISJS.
During his visit, Dr. Abhay Firodia, Chairman of ISJS, presented Prof. Chapple with a memento as a
gesture of warm welcome. Prof. Chapple toured the Abhay Prabhavana Museum and Knowledge Centre, gaining
insights into ISJS's cultural and academic initiatives.
ISJS Director Dr. Shrinetra Pandey shared an overview of the institute's current academic activities and
future plans. Prof. Chapple commended ISJS's sustained efforts in promoting Jain philosophy and culture
worldwide. He also interacted with participants of the nine-month Bhagwan Mahavira Prakrit Fellowship
Program, encouraging them in their academic pursuits.
On this occasion, ISJS Associate Director Dr. Navin Srivastav, along with faculty members and staff, joined
in welcoming Prof. Chapple and engaged in meaningful discussions.
