Bhagwan Shitalnath Chair for Jain Archaeology at Deccan College PGRI (Deemed to be University), Pune
organized the second national annual research seminar on Jain Art, Architecture, and Archaeology on
August 22, 2025.
Dr. Shrinetra Pandey, Director of ISJS, addressed the inaugural session as the Guest of Honour and Prof. Bhagchand Jain 'Bhaskar' delivered the keynote address. The session was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Prasad Joshi. Prof. Shahida Ansari, Head, Department of AIHC and Archaeology, gave the welcome address. Dr. Shrikant Ganvir, Coordinator of the Chair, gave the introduction of the seminar.
The event comprised four technical sessions with multiple papers presented by different scholars from across India. The seminar was attended by around 125 participants who also received the certificates.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, ISJS Faculty, addressed the valedictory ceremony as the Guest of Honour. The seminar successfully fulfilled its objective of disseminating awareness about Jain art, architecture, and archaeology among both academic circles and the general public.
