Induction of 5th Bhagwan Mahavira Prakrit Fellows 2024-25
ISJS inducts five participants of the 5th Bhagwan Mahavira Prakrit
Fellowship program 2024-25 that began on September 1, 2024.
Suvarna Jain from Pune, Ramani Swarna from Delhi, Akarsh Jain from Bhopal, Aviral Jain from Khaniyadhana, and Rahul Mangsule from Sangli have started their journey on Prakrit studies with Siddha-hema- shabdanushasan, a 12th century Prakrit grammar.
The participants have already been introduced to the Indian language system and many other introductory topics. They have also started with the sutras and declensions of words.
The fellows of this residential program will study Prakrit with ISJS for nine months to gain an in-depth understanding of the ancient Indian language which is also the chief language of Jain canonical literature.
ISJS wishes them the best for their new start.
