FIRST NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON JAIN VISUAL ART BY DECCAN COLLEGE
Bhagwan Shitalnath Chair for Jain Archeology at Deccan College
Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Pune has organized a lecture
on Jain Heritage: Jain Visual Art.
The workshop is organized on November 8 and 9, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Department of AIHC and Archaeology. It will be conducted by Dr. Pawan Jain, Visiting Faculty, National Museum Institute, New Delhi.
The workshop aims to give a brief training to the participants in the field of Jain Art, Architecture, Iconography, Paintings, Bronze and other media of Jain visual art. Apart from learning the identifications of the tirthamkaras, shasandevatas, and other deities, of the Jain pantheon, the participants would be imparted training in interpreting their meaning and symbolism.
