In this issue, we have an article in English titled Bahulam and Syadvada:
Some Similarities by Ms. Ramani Swarna. Ms. Swarna is a Bhagwan
Mahavira Prakrit Fellow at ISJS.
The article observes that Jainism proposes a variety of expressions in its
concept of syadvada which is quite similar to Hemachandra’s sutra ‘bahulam’
that also provides a variety of changes in speaking or reading Prakrit. It also
opens doors to further research in the philosophy of language with reference
to Hemachandra’s Siddha-hema-shabdanushasana.
