LECTURES IN DECCAN COLLEGE
Bhagwan Shitalnath Chair for Jain Archeology at Deccan College Post-
Graduate and Research Institute, Pune organized two lectures on different
topics.
A lecture was organized under Prof. H.D. Sankalia Monthly Lecture Series on Jain Heritage on November 27, 2024, via Google Meet from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and was delivered by Dr. Shubha Majumder, Superintending Archaeologist of Mumbai Circle and Custom Branch, Archaeological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The topic of her lecture was Exploring ‘Lost’ Jain Temple Site and ‘Stray’ Sculpture from Chhotanagpur Plateau.

The department has also organized a special lecture on the occasion of World Heritage Week and 2550 th Nirvana Mahotsava of Bhagwan Mahavir on November 24, 2024, via Google Meet from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The lecture was delivered by Mr. Anchit Jain, Assistant Professor (Guest) at Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, New Delhi. The title of the lecture was The Jain Temple of Osian: A Confluence of Art, Devotion and Dedication. Incidentally, Mr Anchit Jain had been sponsored for delivering lectures in Europe by ISJS.
