The ISJS Conclave on Prakrit and Jain Studies was an online event
that celebrated the graduation of the fourth batch of the Bhagwan
Mahavira Prakrit Fellowship (BMPF) program.
During the event, diplomas were conferred upon the participants who
had completed nine months of intensive Prakrit studies in India at
ISJS. Distinguished ISJS mentors and advisors were also invited to
engage with the participants.
Ms. Pragya Jain commenced the gathering by chanting the Namokar
Mantra. ISJS Director (acting), Dr. Shrinetra Pandey, extended a warm
welcome to the dignitaries and introduced various Prakrit activities
conducted by ISJS. He also highlighted the achievements of the
program’s alumni. Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, the BMPF Coordinator,
then presented the teaching methodology of the course followed by
the introduction of the BMPF teachers Ms. Pragya Jain, Ms. Megha
Kadhe, and Dr. Mukesh Mehta.
Prof. Christopher K. Chapple, an ISJS faculty member, extended his
best wishes to the participants.
The four BMPF participants – Mr. Samyak Modi, Dr. Anahita Hoose,
Mr. Leonardo Stockler, and Mr. Harshit Mishra – introduced
themselves and shared feedback on the program. The gathering was
impressed by their progress and plans related to Prakrit.
Dr. Sulekh C. Jain, Co-founder of ISJS, extended blessings to the
participants, emphasizing their promising future. He also highlighted
ISJS's pioneering role in Prakrit studies and its involvement in various
Prakrit projects.
Dr. Jasvant Modi, Advisor to ISJS and sponsor of the BMPF program,
expressed satisfaction with the program's progress.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Shugan C. Jain,
ISJS President, who expressed contentment with the BMPF program
and its participants.
