Literature and language are closely related which can be used to understand a culture’s philosophy and way of life.
The goal of the International School for Jain Studies ‘ISJS’ is to stimulate curiosity about Jainism employing a variety of programs that include both short and long courses for Jain studies and Prakrit language that addresses both basic and in-depth knowledge.
ISJS began its journey with its summer programs for Jainism. Prakrit tagged along after one and a half decades and since then, it has become a valuable part of ISJS. Keeping busy around the year, ISJS buzzes with various programs in teaching both Jainism and Prakrit. Other than that, the translation projects of the Prakrit dictionary and Prakrit grammar text are at their peak.
Our online quarterly journal, ISJS-Transactions, has accelerated. We are glad to put the readers' hands on the April–June edition, which introduces fresh dialogues. We do not stop here. ISJS acknowledges novel work in the field of Jainism through ISJS-Awards. The second Bhagwan Kunthunath Annual Awards for Best Book and Best Paper on Jainism are now accepting applications and is ready to encourage new talent in the field.
