Dr. Shrinetra Pandey delivers a lecture on Jain Philosophy
The Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Institute (Deemed
to be University), Pune invited Dr. Shrinetra Pandey, Director ISJS
(acting), to deliver an online lecture on Jain Philosophy on June 14,
2024.
The Deccan College offers a six-month certificate course in Jain Art and Archaeology under the Bhagwan Shitalnath Chair for Jain Archaeology funded by ISJS. The course focuses on Jain history, architecture, and archaeological perspectives, with an enrolment of 51 participants.
Dr. Pandey discussed the place of Jain philosophy in the Indian philosophical system and stated the unique features of Jainism in the complete Indian scenario. He focused on the requirement of Jain studies as Jainism has much to offer.
The participants were enthusiastic to learn a holistic view of Jainism.
