Workshop on Brahmi Script Receives Great Response
ISJS has received hundreds of applications for the 15-day workshop
on Brahmi Script which is to begin from July 30 to August 13, 2024.
The workshop will be conducted online and the medium of instruction will be English. Each class will be for 75 minutes. The learning will be interactive with class practice and the final exam. A certificate from ISJS will also be provided.
Brahmi is an ancient Indian script. Knowledge of Brahmi is vital and relevant to all those students, scholars, and teachers who are studying or working in the fields of History, Archaeology, Indology, and Manuscriptology. There is a large number of un-deciphered manuscripts written in this script preserved in the British Museum, London, in many Indian libraries and Indology institutes. A knowledge of the script will allow the scholars to read and identify the manuscript which would be of great use to the Indian knowledge systems.

- Evolution of Brahmi: Variations, and Specifications
- Deciphering a Brahmi (lang. Prakrit) inscription by Ashoka and Kharvela
- Transliteration of Prakrit passage/verse from Brahmi to Roman
- Transliteration of Prakrit passage/verse from Roman to Brahmi
