The loud cheers and misty eyes during the valedictory session of the
15-day online workshop on Brahmi Script showed the success of the
program.
More than sixty participants from the USA, China, Thailand, and India
joined the workshop started by ISJS on July 30, 2024, that concluded
on August 13, 2024.
All the participants present in the valedictory session shared their
feedback and looked happy to learn to read and write the ancient
script. They also showed interest in learning other ancient Indian
scripts and also Prakrit language. Dr. Shrinetra Pandey, Director
(acting), ISJS addressed the session and appreciated the effort of
participants and the instructor of the course. Additionally, Dr. Jasvant
Modi, President, Vardhaman Charitable Foundation, USA, also
dropped in the session out of curiosity and addressed the gathering
offering his best wishes for the program.
The workshop was conducted online and the medium of instruction
was English. Each class was for 75 minutes. The faculty of the
workshop Dr. Mukesh Mehta, Research Associate, ISJS provided
ample daily practices that allowed participants to learn the script
through interaction and a lot of practice.
