Lecture by Dr. Shugan C. Jain at Savitribai Phule Pune University
Dr. Shugan C. Jain, Founder and President-ISJS, delivered a lecture on the Historicity of 22nd and 23rd Tirthamkaras at Savitribai Phule Pune University on April 18, 2024. The lecture discussed the historical existence of the tirthamkaras Neminath and Parshwanath of the Jain tradition.
The lecture was organized by Seth Hirachand Nemchand Chair at the university. ISJS supports the academic activities organized by the chair. The lecture commemorated Mahavir Jayanti, the auspicious occasion of Tirthamkara Mahavir’s Janma Kalyanaka.
The venue of the event was Barlingey Hall, Department of Philosophy, Savitribai Phule Pune University. The lecture was attended by about 50 participants followed by an informative discussion on historical evidence for the two tirthamkaras.
