ISJS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU), Nepal to establish a Center for Jain, Bauddha, and Peace Studies on April 25, 2024.

The initiative is taken to promote Jain and comparative studies in particular that includes a faculty and student exchange program. Five faculty members from the university are joining the 5-week Summer Program by ISJS starting June 17, 2024.

ISJS President Dr. Shugan C. Jain and ISJS Director (acting) Dr. Shrinetra Pandey visited Lumbini on April 25-26, 2024 to mark the collaboration.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Subarna Lal Bajracharya, Dean Faculty of Buddhist Studies Prof. Manikratna Shakya, Director Research Prof. Geetu Giri, ICCR Dr. BR Ambedkar Chair Prof. Bimalendra Kumar, and Coordinator Center for International Relations Dr. Kumar Khadka were present on behalf of Lumbini Buddhist University.

Dr. Shugan C. Jain also delivered a lecture at the university on Jainism and its role in Peace and Sustainability. The ISJS delegation also visited the BR Ambedkar Chair established by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, India at the Lumbini Buddhist University campus.
