Outstanding Activities by Bhagawan Shitalnath Chair for Jain Archaeology
Oshin Bamb, Research Fellow, Bhagawan Shitalnath Chair for Jain Archaeology, Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Institute, Pune, founded by ISJS, has participated in various activities in the past few months.
Mr. Bamb presented papers at conferences and contributed to other activities specifically dedicated to Jainism:
1. Paper on 'Devagiri, a Forgotten Jain Religious Center: An Iconographic Study of Some Shvetambar Images' at Marathwada Itihas Parishad held at Satara on January 13, 2024
2. Paper on 'A Unique Partially Rock-Cut, Partially Structural Jain Cave-Temple: Cave no. 10 at Muktagiri' at the national conference organized by the Indian Sculpture and Architecture Research Council on February 2, 2024
3. Paper on 'Reappraisal of the Jain Images of Bhadravati, District Chandrapur, Maharashtra' at the 8th International Congress of Society of South Asian Archaeology at Bihar Museum, Patna on April 6, 2024
4. Recorded a MOOC on Jainism for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, a credit course of Symbiosis University on March 26, 2024
5. Presented on 'Jain Iconography with Special Reference to Maharashtra' at the national conference held at Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University on March 22, 2024
