Online Monthly Lecture on Applicability of Samayasara
The 15th lecture in the online monthly lecture series by ISJS is to be delivered by Dr. Medhavi Jain on Kundakunda’s Samayasara: Present-day applicability of the two-thousand-year-old text on April 27, 2024. Doctorate in Jainism, Dr. Jain is a life coach who has authored eleven books and many research papers on different subjects. She is the leader of various organizations and makes guest appearances at different award ceremonies. Dr. Jain lives in Delhi and is well-connected with ISJS for many years.
The talk will focus on the subject matter of the Kundakunda’ Samayasara, how it is unique in many ways, and how it can be useful in dealing with modern-day challenges. It will attempt to provide philosophical resolutions to modern issues and put forward the Jain philosophy as a way of life.
The session will be chaired by Prof. Jayanti Lal Jain. Prof. Jain is the advisor and former Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Mangalayatan University and Professor Emeritus at the University of Madras. He has worked extensively on Kundakunda’s texts and has published seven books on him and other subjects like non-violence, and instrumentality. Prof. Jain is a key faculty of ISJS.
