ISJS AWARDS

ISJS celebrated the successful launch of its new initiatives to promote and support the growing field of academic studies globally in a glittering function on December 10, 2023, at India International Centre (IIC), Delhi.

The award ceremony was graced by Prof. Sachchidanand Mishra, Member-Secretary, Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR). Prof. Christopher Chapple of LMU and large number of eminent Jains and academicians at IIC and via Zoom. The overseas award winners joined the program via Zoom also. Different awards and citations presented are as follows:

ISJS Presents Bhagwan Kunthunath Awards

The first annual Bhagwan Kunthunath Awards presented are as follows:

Best Book:

• Digital and Diaspora intertwined frontiers of contemporary Jainism by Prof. Tine Vekemans University of Ghent (Belgium)

Best Research Paper (joint award):

• Commonality and Difference: Jain Philosophical Approaches to Interreligious Studies by Dr. Anil Mundra Rutgers University (USA)
• Ascetic Practices in Inter-faith Dialogue – Jain Yoga and Orthodox Hesychasm by Ms. Nataliia Pavlyk (Ukraine), currently in Romania.

Certificates Presented to Bhagwan Naminath Fellows

The ISJS initiative to train young and budding Jain scholars who attended ISJS program to enhance research and writing skills of young scholars in India were awarded the certificates of completion by Prof Christopher Chapple (LMU USA).

Application of Jain Values in K-12 Schools in Delhi

ISJS also honoured the heads of three Jain Schools in Delhi which were its laboratories to implement Teachers for Peace program and related application of Jain Values to enhance learning and discipline. The persons honoured are:
