Following two programs are available for overseas and Indian participants through virtual platforms:
Online ISSJS.2021-3W: This three-week program is designed to cater to the needs of undergraduate and graduate degree holders, PhD candidates, professors and faculty in religion, philosophy, South Asian studies, anthropology and other related subjects (history, art, music, public health, bioethics, education, management etc.) who desire to learn about Jainism as a part of their higher education. Online ISSJS.2021-Teaching for Peace (TFP): This program is designed for teachers & educators who wish to integrate practical non-violence and its applications into their lives, classrooms and schools. Date & Time: July 08 - 28, 2021 from 06:00 PM till 09:00 PM(IST)
Classes will be conducted from Monday to Friday for both the programs. There will be two lectures daily. Each lecture will be of one hour followed by discussion/ participants presentations.
3 Credit Units available for both online programs at an additional cost.

EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN PRAKRIT UNDER BHAGWAN MAHAVIRA FELLOWSHIP IN INDIA
ISJS invites applications from interested scholars for fully paid Bhagwan Mahavira Fellowship for 9 months in India to study Prakrit language (a language of Jain canonical literature).
The fellowship provides full boarding, lodging, monthly stipend (for personal expenses), tuition, course material and travel within India in connection with the program. The selected scholars will only bear their own airfare to and from India, the passport and visa fee etc.
This is an excellent opportunity for four fellowships that will be made available. Deadline Extended till May 15, 2021

ISJS is looking for qualified scholars of Philosophy, religion, history and culture at different levels to work on their education and research projects. NEW PUBLICATION: TRACES OF SHRAMAN TRADITION PRIOR TO 650 BCE
A book edited by Dr. Shugan Chand Jain and Dr. Shrinetra Pandey entitled “Traces of Shraman Tradition (with special reference to Jainism) Prior to 650 BCE” published by International School for Jain Studies (ISJS), Pune is now available for readers.
The research papers in this book are the proceedings of a seminar on “Traces of Shraman Tradition (with special reference to Jainism): Prior to 650 BCE” organized by ISJS in association with The Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI) on October 5th & 6th, 2019. This book contains 13 selected research papers on the various aspects of the theme.

ISJS has introduced a Book Review section in its Online Research Journal (ISJS-Transactions) with a vision to recognize upcoming literature in Jainism and a commitment to promote literary work in the field.
The latest (January-March 2021) issue contains a review of the book entitled Sallekhanā: The Jain Approach to Dignified Death edited by Dr. Shugan Chand Jain and Prof. Christopher Key Chapple which is reviewed by Ms. Pragya Jain.
ISJS invites newly published books on Jainism for review. The book should be published in or after 2020. Authors/Editors/Publishers are requested to send two copies of the book (one for the reviewer and one for ISJS library). A single book along with a review article on that can also be sent.
