Target Participants: Undergraduate students, Graduate students, PhD candidates, Professors, and Faculty members of universities abroad, and Jain professionals who wish to have experiential immersion in Jain philosophy and way of life.
This online program includes lectures by subject experts/scholars; interaction with Jain saints and householder family; view online Pujas; Group discussions. Besides these, participants will have an opportunity to visit Jain pilgrim places and saints in India for 2-3 days during summer 2021 with its summer school participants. Only travel ‘to and from their home-India-home’ will be borne by participants.

BOOK RELEASE: SALLEKHANA - THE JAIN APPROACH TO DIGNIFIED DEATH
A book edited by Shugan Chand Jain & Christopher Key Chapple entitled “Sallekhana - The Jain Approach to Dignified Death”.
This book arose from contemporary concerns regarding the end of life. Death is an inevitable fact of life. Jain preceptors have offered a system of fasting that makes the time before death an auspicious and pleasant experience, known as Sallekhana, Samadhimarana or Santhara. This practice had been observed ever since Jainism was propagated the founding tirthankaras. More than fifty-six papers were presented in these seminars by forty-four Indian and twelve foreign scholars. This book contains twelve papers that provides a comprehensive discussion on the subject. The book also includes a brief overview of other papers presented in the three seminars.
RESEARCH ON JAIN BUSINESS ETHICS
ISJS is conducting research on Jain business ethics. In this regard, we solicit the views & experiences of our readers on “Jain principle/s or way of life elements that are instrumental in the success of Jains in business activities they undertake.” Please share your experiences as well as some information or research you have concerning Jain business leaders between 1800-1960 AD.
Your contribution will significantly improve the result of our research. Your views and experiences will be duly referred in the research publication.

AN OPEN-ACCESS ONLINE COURSE IN JAIN STUDIES
Bhagwan Mallinath Chair Loyola Marymount University (LMU), USA organized An Open-Access Online Course in Jain Studies. For this course, Dr. Christopher Miller, Bhagwan Mallinath Assistant Professor of Jainism, Department of Theological Studies, LMU delivered 13 introductory lectures on Jain philosophy, culture, history, conduct and relevance today. Dr. Miller is an alumnus (2012) and close associate of ISJS.

TEACHERS TEACHING NONVIOLENCE
A book entitled “Teachers Teaching Nonviolence” edited by Christian Bracho & Danita Dodson, containing Foreword by Tara Sethia, is going to release virtually on October 02, 2020.
This book reflects the understandings and experiences of eighteen educators who are involved in educating nonviolence and peace; Ms. Laura Gail Hirshfield is one of them. She is the Co-Founder of ISJS’s Teaching for Peace Program. She has written a chapter for this book in which she talks about ISJS and her experiences.
