New Office of ISJS


ISJS has shifted its operations to newly furnished 2nd Floor at 230A, Jin Kushal Suri Complex, Masjid Moth, South Extension Part-II, New Delhi - 110049. The head office for communications and meetings will continue to be D-28, Panchsheel Enclave, New Delhi - 110017. Wanted Research Associates

ONLINE OPEN COURSE

ISJS has launched its project Online Open Course development in Jainism and initial planning is in progress. It is likely to involve a few universities, independent scholars and computer technologists to pan and develop this project. Once completed, it will offer an Online 40 hours long teaching program for anyone globally with the facility of getting a certificate and credit units for transfer to participant’s undergraduate or graduate program. More later.

ONLINE JOURNAL "ISJS-TRANSACTIONS" (ISSN: 2457-0583)

Scholars are encouraged to contribute their unpublished articles/research papers for ISJS-Transactions. Experts and scholars on Jain Studies and Indic religions are also encouraged to register themselves as reviewers of articles for the publication. In case you are interested, you can send your credentials and area of specialization to us. You can also send us your suggestion for improving the Journal. SEMINAR/WORKSHOP

Dr. Shugan Chand Jain presented two papers during the month of October; Namely "Ecology and Jain Ethics" at a seminar sponsored by ICPR at Vishnu Mohan Foundation, Chennai from 1st - 3rd November, 2018 and "Jainism: Past, Present & Furture" as held on 27th October, 2018 at Somaiya Vidyavihar, Mumbai.

Visit by Mrs. Suzanne Maxwell Johar

Mrs. Johar, from USA, visited ISJS office on 11th October, 2018 and meets its management. She had completed ISSJS.2014-TFP program. She joined Jain Bharti Mrgavati School, Alipur, Delhi as a guest English teacher on August 3rd 2018 for three months. This is the result of new initiative of ISJS to enhance exchange of teachers between India and USA and an extension of Teaching for Peace program.

Visit by French Scholars

Ms. Evelyne Simon and Ms. Maui-Lauv Gaston has visited ISJS office on 24th October, 2018. Ms. Gaston is a teacher of Philosophy in France and Ms. Simon is preparing for Doctorate upon Jain Philosophy. Ms Simon discussed regarding topic of research with ISJS faculties.

Visit of ISJS Delegates to Srimad Rajchandra Mission, Dharampur

From 3rd - 4th October, 2018 ISJS delegates (Dr. Shugan Jain, Prof. Viney Jain and Dr. Shrinetra Pandey) visited Shrimad Rajchandra Mission at Dharampur. They met Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai and discussed ISJS future plans with him. During this visit Dr. Shugan Jain delivered a lecture on Jain Identity and Values. The delegation also visited the schools, college and hospital governed by Mission.
